A very welcome Tasting from long-time SWAS stalwart and our favourite Australian 'Bon Viveur', James.

The White:

1.     2021 Tre Stelle; Basilicata, Italy; Greco, Fiano; 13% abv

    

James' Note: Flavours of ripe citrus fruits and fresh herbs with a crisp finish.

The Reds:

2.   2015 'Miles from Nowhere'; Margaret River, Australia; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot blend; 14% abv

James' Note: Ripe fruits and firm tannins.

3.   2007 Altos R Pineage; Tempranillo; Laguardia, Spain; 14% abv

James' Note: Rounded, full bodied, velvety black fruit, peppery, firm tannins

4.     2008 Mission Estate; Hawke's Bay, New Zealand; 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot; 14% abv

James' Note: Very smooth rich, full bodied with plently of fruit, dominantly blackberry

5.   2002 Chateau Canon Chaigneau; Néac, Lalande-de-Pomerol, France; Cabernet Sauvignon; 12.5% abv

James' Note: Gentle hints of cedar, plum, spice and toasty blackcurrent

6.   2008 Aussières; Narbonne, Pays d'Oc, France; Cabernet, Syrah blend; 13.5% abv

James' Note:  Supple black plum, currant and cherry aromas and flavours  

7.   2012 'The Forefather'; Maipu, Mendoza, Argentina; Malbec, shiraz blend; 14.0 % abv

James' Note: Velvety ripe black fruitwith a spicy mocha finish

8.   2005 Metala; Langhorne Creek, South Australia; Shiraz 60%, Cabernet Sauvignon 40%; 14.5 abv

James' Note:  Full bodied, dense blackberry flavours, soft tannins

9.    2012 'Dogs of the Barossa', Redheads Studio;  Barossa Valley, South Australia; Shiraz; 15.5% abv

James' Note: Rich, crushed berry fruit palate with spicy oak
